History

Two friends, of too many years to recount, walk into a restaurant for dinner in 2010. One of them turns toward the right and the other is looking forward, as they wait to be seated. Both notice a loving couple having dinner. Both friends smile and turn to the other and say at the same time: “…look over at that table, isn’t love wonderful….”

The two friends were pointing at completely different tables. One table had an elderly, male-female couple and the other table had a middle-aged, male-male couple. Both couples were looking at each other lovingly and holding hands across the table from one another. Both were in love. Both were wonderful. It seemed logical to the two friends that all couples should be able to share moments like these throughout the world without fear, no matter where they are. The simple truth is that they cannot. Many couples face discrimination all of the time, and probably for years to come, simply due to the fact their relationship is different from someone else’s relationship. From this reality…Couples for Equality™ was born.

Six months later, two brilliant creative minds and friends, who care, joined the aforementioned two friends. The four of them collectively are Founders of Couples for Equality™.
